I quite agree. Honestly, it does seem a bit fast. Ha ha, I am reminded of a program (on the History Channel, I believe) about the presidents which made a remark to the effect that we can't really say anything about how a president will be viewed until after his time in office. Equally, I'd say that awarding someone the Nobel Peace Prize after less than a year's time seems a bit quick--why not let things roll out and see what really ends up happening? Because it's possible for one's efforts for peace to lead to destruction of said peace. Hitler, anyone? (Okay, maybe an extreme case, but you can't deny that he wanted peace, even if his method involved eliminating those "in the way" of that peace)

I feel exactly the same way. I love my friends so much, and I know that no matter what they do, it's because they do care about me.

I love your poem - it expresses exactly how I feel about my friends, the kind of friend I wish to be. Thank you for sharing.

to my friend, and brother, Steven, you are truly an amazing man, I had the pleasure of being with you in the Netherlands, and serving the Lord with you in many aspects. I enjoyed the constant companionship that I had with you, it seemed that no matter how far away we were, we always stayed close at heart.
people often speak of "great men" and "mighty men of valour" I would like to speak of my friends, these mighty men, my heroes, they are the kind of men, that stand with you, that always seem to know what you mean, even if you don't. they are the servants of God. such is the brother, that I have found, in Steven Nay

My $0.02. When it comes to finding a spouse, I think the Lord has more of a chance to inspire someone if they are actively engaged in dating. To use a metaphor from a completely different field, if I were an oil industry executive, I'd say that the more wells you drill the more likely you are to strike oil.

I've also listened to a number of talks from our Church leaders who say that if you don't have a clear answer, take action and move forward in faith. The Lord will let you know eventually and certainly before making a mistake that would have eternal consequences.

Wow. This is a hard topic that I find myself wondering many times, and not just about marriage. I think this can apply to almost any part of your life that you have questions about, which you can't see the whole picture. I think my biggest problem is I'm too impatient, so then I wonder if this whole thing is just a way that the Lord is trying to teach my patience. I'm sure it'll work, eventually. :D

I guess we just need to keep working at it, like you said. Do what we can and wait for the Lord to step in when the timing's right.

I love 'watching' the games on twitter. Since I usually don't have time to sit down an watch it (and really, I only like watching games with other people who really like watching it), following the games on twitter is what I do.

Yay for technology!

I saw this musical at a high school up here in Washington. I loved it! I thought that it was a lot of fun. I don't remember it being suggestive but it has been a while since I saw it. I know that BYU did this musical for one of their drama camps so it is a little wierd that you said it made you uncomfortable at times. I really liked the elephant, Horton. The music is wonderful and I know what you mean about the set. It was definately more elaborate than anything we did at me high school. I really enjoyed this musical.

Yes, I agree with you. Having a community is crucial, as you say. Religion for me is the ideal community, but that aspect of the community is by no means necessary.

I agree that religion can help people. However, as I am a non-theist, I don't believe it is necessary. The more important factor is having the support of a community, be that a church, fraternal organization, or AA. Religion would not work for me if I were to, hypothetically, be an addict trying to fight my cravings. But if it helps others, I have no problem with that.
